Shakespeare on the Hudson Catskill NY | Peter and Jason's Wedding

Peter and Jason both work in the medical world, helping others and working towards a healthier better world. In a world where two hyper compassionate people meet, it becomes a world full of love from everywhere, friends, family and each other. At this point i’ve said that the day was a perfect day for all my weddings, SO WHY SHOULD THIS ONE BE DIFFERENT?! It was a bright sunny day, easily filled with loving guests who were READY TO PARTY. It just can’t be helpped, people had already started partying before I even got there! We made some beautiful photos, and fun and happiness was had by all!

Onteora Club Tannersville NY | Kate and Pierre's Wedding

Katie and Pierre have been waiting for this day for ever - These two were so excited this day they were juuuust a little bit nervous. They just wanted the day to go perfectly and being focused on the moments they get to share with their family and their friends was exactly the things they were looking forward to. The day started a little slow, but as soon as they got to see each other, things just ramped up so quickly! BTW Shenanigans Galore.

Thomas Bull Memorial Park | Ali and Josh's Wedding Montgomery NY

Ali and Josh are the type of people who love a good adventure, and isn’t afraid of change and going with the flow when they need to. Set up for the best possible outcome but have alternate plans for the worst outcomes. There was a chance that their ceremony was going to have rain as the forecast was predicting, but as we started to check the hour to hour time, we were relieved to have just a small chance where the rain would stop by the time First Look was happening at Thomas Memorial Bull Park, a gorgeous little place out in Montgomery NY.

The day started and it had already rained in the early morning, but it was mostly drizzling by the time I had to be at Ali’s Parent’s home for some details and getting ready photos. Everyone was definitely ready to party and have some fun and in good spirits, especially Ali and her Mom. We put the finishing touches on Ali’s Makeup and Hair, and adjustments to her dress – and when we say we I mean her mom and her bridesmaids – then we were ready to go meet Josh at the park.

We got to the park and I met up with Josh who was extra excited – classic Josh. Bright eyed and bushy tailed and with the biggest smile and ready to do the first look with his love. It had JUST slowed down from drizzle to barley anything – so we set Josh up in place, and gave Ali an Umbrella, and then… well History!

Camp Centerland Wedding Buffalo NY | Darcy and Jonathan

Darcy and Jonathan are both tabletop RPG nerds and fantasy buffs who were destined to be together. If you don’t even understand any of those things, you better start learning because we’re going to throw some D-20’s up in this blog and slay some dragons. Having met while working at a summer camp while also nerding-out together, they decided to make the theme to their wedding “Hobbits Go to Summer Camp” which based on all their details, made their day identified to them SO Well. It was a hot summery day, the sun was out, the people were smiling and they were both super nervous and excited.

They didn’t want to do a full first look, but they did want to do some sort of first look, soooo we did a super emotionally charged NOT First look, but hand holding and hugging, and crying definitely ensued. Blindfolds and crying, and sniffling, definitely a tear jerking moment.

It was the perfect day.

Catering: Annie Krause of Rouge Cellar and Chiavetta’s Chicken
Venue: Camp Centerland: A program of JCC Buffalo

Century House Albany NY | Kelly and Tony's Wedding

Kelly and Tony were fated to be together, when I first met them they seemed like lovers who had finally got together and who already understood how infinite Love is, that it extends not for our partners, but to our families and each other’s families. Family is super important to these two and it was without a doubt a big part of their day. But let me tell you how excited these two were to see each other. A first look that was filled with just EXCITEMENT, no nerves - well maybe a little bit but mostly just excitement. My favorite thing about weddings is the first look, the raw moment that happens and the pure happiness that just fills the entire space.

A day filled with love, excitement, surprises and good friends and family. What else could you ask more? Maybe some more delicious cake :-)

Montreal Engagement Session | Abi and Mathieu

I first got contacted by Mathieu on Wedding Wire looking for a wedding photographer to travel to Spillian, little did he know that I’d be more than willing to travel to Montreal as well! I love this city with its rustic charm and its modern sensibilities. Funny enough, Abi and Mathieu met in Japan, and at this time Mathieu lived in Montreal and Abi lived in New Jersey and their fate was just meant to be! 可愛い (Kawaii) is only breaking the surface of how I should describe him, but most important thing of all, we had so much fun together, and things were so easy for them. I love that they were willing to be silly, to be sultry and especially allowing me to enjoy this Beautiful City of Montreal!

Saratoga National Historic Park | David and Joe's Engagement | Jay Zhang Photography

David and Joe are two silly people. Everything about them reminds me that life is way to short to be so serious. They just constantly were laughing and having fun and enjoying themselves and thats exactly what I wanted them to do - to just exist with each other in their space. There was just so much laughing there wasn't enough time to think about negativity and insecurities, only time to think about having fun, being in love, and laughing all the way home. It was a perfect day filled with perfectly real people.

Century House Wedding | Latham NY | Laurel and Barb

These two have been waiting and waiting and WAITING for this day, with complicated situations barring the logistics of the event actually happening, it was FINALLY the day that these two got to tie the knot with each other. It was a beautifully happy day with these two beautiful women who just so badly wanted to be together and with each other. I don't know these two outside of them being together, but from what I've heard, they are the happiest they have ever been since they have been together, and all I wanted to do was document their happiness together. There was just so much love during this day. They were surrounded by family members who they wanted to share their day with, and the love that exuded the room was overwhelmingly heart warming. I'm pretty sure it was the perfect day for them, and i'm sure they'd want to do it again if they could!

Renaissance Hotel Albany | Kirsten and Asher's Wedding | Jay Zhang Photography

This couple is kicking off 2018 wedding season with a BANG. Incredibly easy going, fun loving, always silly couples are the best. They just wanted to be with each other, be near each other, see their friends, see their family, share moments together, and most importantly, make each other laugh SO HARD ALL DAY. I can't explains the amount of laughing that occurred all day (also the amount of crying) but there was happiness to be had by all. Can you blame them when the day went beautifully?
